Hypnosis, Spirituality, and the Energy That Connects Us

Many people associate hypnosis with stage shows, mysterious mind control, or strange rituals. Spirituality, meanwhile, often gets labeled as “woo-woo,” overly mystical, or even threatening. Yet at their core, both are deeply connected to the same essence: energy, awareness, and human experience.

Hypnosis is essentially a tool to access the subconscious mind, a state where we are more receptive, open, and aware of our inner patterns. Spirituality — in its purest sense — is about connecting with energy: the universal life force, intuition, and the unseen currents that shape our reality.

Ever notice how some moments just feel different—like a gut instinct, a sudden insight, or the warmth of someone’s presence? That’s energy. And the cool thing is, we can tune into it.

Hypnosis and spiritual practices both help us do just that. They invite us to:

  • Slow down and look inward

  • Notice our thoughts, feelings, and intentions

  • Access insights hidden in the noise of everyday life

Hypnosis can guide us toward clarity, self-healing, and alignment. Spirituality—through meditation, energy work, or simple awareness—grounds us, helping us feel more connected to ourselves and the world around us.

Why it matters:
When we embrace energy, we gain clarity, trust ourselves more, and feel emotionally and physically better. Creativity, intuition, and spiritual growth all flow more easily. Basically, we step closer to our true selves. Spirituality isn’t about rituals—it’s about noticing what’s already there and honoring the connections all around us.

What science says:

  • Hypnosis quiets the brain’s “chatter,” boosting focus, emotional balance, and self-awareness.

  • Meditation and spiritual experiences activate areas of the brain linked to empathy, calm, and creativity.

  • Even subtle signals in our body—like heart and brain activity—can influence intuition and connect us to others.

So, while science may not measure “energy” in mystical terms, it does show our mind, body, and subtle signals are deeply linked. Hypnosis and spiritual practices are tools to tap into that connection, helping life feel richer, clearer, and more magical.

Energy isn’t a belief—it’s real, living, part of your everyday experience. Stop fearing what you can’t see. Start feeling what you already know. That’s where the magic begins.

Unlocking the Power of Intuition in Recruitment

Conflict and pressure have always been my companions. From managing charities through crises to navigating daily stress in high-stakes environments, I’ve spent my life learning how to stay calm under fire and resolve conflicts with grace. So, when I was passed over for a role based on a psychometric assessment that claimed I couldn’t handle stress, it hit hard. The test painted me as someone incapable of managing conflict or thriving in high-pressure situations. But the irony? The candidate they selected for the role didn’t succeed. I was called in to clean up the mess. That role—working in the aftermath of the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, overseeing 300+ people in a nationwide Census campaign—was a proving ground for my resilience and ability to lead under pressure. It was a defining moment that changed the way I think about recruitment.

What I learned from that experience is powerful: outdated, cookie-cutter hiring methods lead to missed opportunities. The magic comes from trusting your intuition. Your gut, that inner voice, can often see potential long before any test or analysis ever could. And it’s in trusting that intuition that true success is born.
For me, hiring has never been about checking boxes or following a rigid formula. It’s about feeling the energy of a person, understanding the essence of who they are, and seeing if they align with the role, the team, and the bigger vision. When we overthink, when we rely too much on frameworks or analytics, we create unnecessary friction. The real power lies in blending intuition with strategy. It’s about looking beyond a resume and assessing the unique qualities a person brings—their energy, their communication style, their ability to adapt and thrive. That’s where lasting success lies, for both the individual and the organisation.
When I decided to trust my instincts in recruitment, I saw firsthand how transformative it could be. My approach blends proven strategies with intuitive insight, ensuring that every candidate is evaluated not just for their qualifications, but for their potential to make a real impact within a team. This has led to stronger, more cohesive teams and better long-term retention—because when you hire with intuition, you’re not just filling a role; you’re building a relationship that lasts.
Recruitment guided by intuition isn’t about replacing strategy. It’s about enriching it. When you combine skill, experience, and instinct, you unlock the power to make truly transformative hires. You give people roles where they feel valued, aligned, and inspired.
When we trust our instincts, we’re not just creating positions—we’re building futures. We’re empowering people to thrive. And that’s the power of intuitive recruitment.

Is Your Psychic Ability Inherited or Developed?

Have you ever wondered if your psychic sensitivity is something you were born with—or if it’s something you can develop over time? The answer might surprise you.
DNA: Your Body’s Blueprint

DNA is more than just the molecule that makes you… well, you. It holds the instructions for every single cell in your body — and it might even influence your spiritual side. While there’s no single “psychic gene,” your DNA can shape your brain wiring, emotional sensitivity, and personality traits — all of which play a role in intuition.

Think of it this way: some people are naturally wired to notice subtle energies, pick up on cues others miss, or sense emotions that remain hidden from most. That sensitivity may not always manifest in obvious ways within a family tree—it can skip generations, lie dormant until triggered by life experiences, or simply emerge as part of your unique genetic makeup.

Nature Meets Nurture

While DNA sets the stage, life experiences write the script. Psychic abilities can develop through meditation, energy work, mindfulness, or even intense personal experiences that heighten your awareness. You don’t have to wait for a family gift to appear; cultivating your sensitivity is a journey that blends inherited traits with learned skills.

Your psychic side isn’t just about seeing the unseen—it’s about tuning into yourself and the world around you. Paying attention to your dreams, gut feelings, and synchronicities can help you awaken and expand this natural ability.

Where Are You in Your Spirituality?

Are you just beginning to notice subtle nudges from your intuition, or have you been exploring your psychic abilities for years? Your spiritual path is unique, and it may take different forms at different times in your life.

The key is curiosity and practice. Tune into your inner world, trust your perceptions, and embrace the magical possibilities that your DNA and life experiences are conspiring to reveal.

What Are 7-Year Cycles? The concept suggests that every 7 years, you complete a cycle of growth, and transition into a new phase. Each cycle involves changes in identity, priorities, values, and even physical/emotional states. These shifts can be subtle or life-changing, depending on how aligned you are with your inner self.Influences and my motivation behind Transform your Psyche, your journal to self discovery are:

When Leadership Feels Lonely: Why I Wrote About Shadow Work

When things go wrong inside an organisation, relationships break down—and the higher up you are, the fewer safe places you have to talk about it.Boards often lack the tools—or the will—to address what’s really happening. Colleagues may be too burned out or afraid to speak honestly. And for many managers—especially women and people in values-led roles—the unspoken message is clear: "Hold it all together or quietly leave."So we do. We leave. But we carry the story with us.Shadow work—the process of facing what’s hidden or suppressed—was the only way I could make sense of what I’d been through. But healing shouldn’t be a solo mission.
